The short version
The lettering tool has no server. Words you type, colours you choose and artwork you export are processed entirely on your own device and are never transmitted to us or to anyone else by the tool. There is no account system, no upload and no storage of your input.
What the tool does not collect
- The text you type into the generator. It is held in the page’s memory only and is gone when the tab closes.
- The artwork you export. Rendering happens on your device and the file is saved directly to your device.
- Account details of any kind, because there are no accounts.
- Uploaded files, because there is no upload function.
What is collected automatically
Like almost every website, this site is served over the web and therefore generates routine technical information in the course of delivering pages. Our hosting provider records standard server logs, which typically include IP address, browser user-agent, the page requested, the referring page and a timestamp. These logs are used for security and for diagnosing faults.
Cookie usage and why the site sets one
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. This site itself sets no cookies for the lettering tool, because the tool has nothing to remember. Cookies may be set by the third-party services described below.
Third-party services
Two categories of third-party service may operate on this site.
Advertising. This site is supported by advertising served through Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet.
You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google’s Ads Settings, and you can opt out of personalised advertising from many third-party vendors at aboutads.info or youronlinechoices.eu depending on where you are located. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, a consent notice will be presented before any non-essential cookies are set, and your choice can be changed at any time.
Analytics. This site uses Google Analytics to measure aggregate traffic — page views, referring sources, approximate country and how long visitors stay on each page — rather than to identify individuals. Google Analytics sets its own cookies for this purpose; the lettering tool itself still sets none. Analytics data is used to understand which pages are useful and to fix the ones that are not. You can opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s official browser add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout).
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over personal data relating to you, including the right to access it, correct it, delete it, restrict how it is used, object to processing, and request portability. Because this site does not collect personal data through the tool itself, most such requests relate to data held by the third-party services above, and those services provide their own mechanisms for exercising them.
Under the General Data Protection Regulation, the lawful bases for any processing that does occur are consent, for advertising and analytics cookies where consent is required, and legitimate interests, for security and the operation of the site.
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended, we do not sell personal information. Requests to know, delete or correct can be sent to the address on the contact page.
Children
This site is not directed at children under the age of thirteen and does not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided personal information through this site, please make contact so it can be addressed.
Data retention
Because the tool retains nothing, there is nothing to retain. Server logs held by our hosting provider are retained for a limited period for security and diagnostic purposes and are then discarded. Third-party services retain data according to their own policies.
International transfers
Our hosting and advertising providers may process data in countries other than the one you are in. Where that happens, the transfers rely on the safeguards those providers have put in place, such as standard contractual clauses.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, the date at the top of this page will change and the nature of the change will be described here. Continued use of the site after an update indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
